‘Vision 2047: Developed India – Developed State’ to Highlight 5th Prayagraj Book Fair from December 18

Prayagraj: The much-awaited 5th Prayagraj Book Fair is set to begin on December 18 at The Palms Resort – Royal Garden, Katra, the city’s emerging educational hub. This year, the fair promises new dimensions with an expanded collection of books, engaging literary sessions, and vibrant cultural activities—further strengthening its place as a key cultural and intellectual event in Prayagraj.

Addressing a press conference, Convenor Manoj Singh Chandel said that the fair is being jointly organised by ForceOne Books and Bookwala, ensuring widespread participation from renowned publishers, distributors, and various social and literary organisations across the country.

Co-organiser Manish Garg informed that the 11-day fair will feature leading publishing houses including Rajkamal Prakashan, Lokbharati Prakashan, Vani Prakashan, Rajpal & Sons, Bharatiya Jnanpith, Sasta Sahitya Mandal, Publications Division (Government of India), Sahitya Bhandar, Prakashan Sansthan, Unbound Script, Bookwala, Samyak Prakashan, Hind Yugm, Divyansh Prakashan, Shilpayn, Garg Brothers, A.K. Enterprises, Diksha Stationery, Dinkar Pustakalaya, Yogda, as well as Udbodhan Publication, Ritesh Book Agency, Aditri Book Agency, Being Bookish, Kitab Padho, Ramakrishna Math Kolkata, and Shri Kabir Gyan Prakashan Kendra, Giridih.

For children and young readers, special attractions will include Navneet Publications and the iconic Amar Chitra Katha, presenting a rich collection of children’s literature, illustrated stories, and knowledge-enhancing books.

Fair Director Aakarsh Chandel announced that this year’s theme—“Vision 2047: Developed India – Developed State”—aims to promote accessible knowledge, education, and literacy as India approaches the centenary of its Independence. The fair will run from December 18 to 28, with free entry for all visitors.

The fair will be inaugurated on December 18 at 5 PM by Justice Siddharth Nandan of the Allahabad High Court.

Throughout the event, visitors can look forward to book launches, author interactions, poetry recitals, literary discussions, storytelling sessions, and creative workshops for children. To encourage local writers, free stalls are being provided so they can directly engage with readers.

Co-convenor Manish Garg added that all books at the fair will be available at a minimum discount of 10%. He emphasised that even in the digital era, books remain the most powerful medium of knowledge, sensitivity, and inspiration. A vast collection of competitive exam preparation material, career guidance resources, and motivational literature will be a special attraction for youth.

In the social welfare category, blood donation awareness campaigns will be conducted by Rakt Sankalp and Raktarpan organisations, while Rotary Prayagraj Platinum will host awareness sessions on education, health and community service.

Organisers have also ensured safe and convenient parking arrangements for visitors to enjoy the fair without hassle.

The organisers have invited literature lovers, students, researchers, families and residents of Prayagraj and nearby areas to participate in this grand celebration of knowledge, literature, and culture.
